Make Your Own Board and Batten Shutters

*Difficulty: Medium.
*Price: Around $10 or less per shutter (not including primer/paint)
*Price if contracted: $150 or more per custom-made wood shutter! Or about $50/shutter for vinyl (see picture below).
*Approximate savings: $140 per SINGLE shutter (custom-made wood)
*Why I did it myself: We need shutters (currently have none on the house). The plastic ones are cheap-looking and ugly. I wanted a more authentic look for our old house, and something of higher quality. I then researched how to make my own shutters, and LOVE how the board and batten ones look! Also, the low DIY cost and high quality can't be beat!
